The design intent of the Etam landscape design was to create a series of garden rooms in which the employees could take breaks, eat lunch, and look onto from their offices.

Security was a critical issue. Limiting access into and out of the building was a primary concern.  Water features were important elements in the design, collecting the building roof drainage as well as forming a series of ornamental design features, including a canal bounding two sides of the site.
