Conceived of as an interactive community garden, the project was designed to serve the needs of the surrounding under-privileged community of Watts.  The garden includes educational, cultural, and agricultural components. Allotment gardens allow members of the surrounding community to harvest their own food for consumption and sale at a weekly farmer's market.
